Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Pennsylvania

Landlord Responsibilities

Is it the responsibility of the tenent or the landlord to have the septic (cess pool) cleaned?

It had to be cleaned when we moved in, we footed the bill, now 6 months later it needed to be cleaned again because of poor drainage, and if it wasn't cleaned the water would back up and ruin the floors.

Re: Landlord Responsibilities

The responsibility for the repair depends upon what the lease has to say. It must be reviewed by an attorney before an accurate answer can be given. If the lease is silent, it is probably the landlord's responsibility. Suggest you consult legal counsel.
