Legal Sale

If a chimney to a house was inspected PRIOR to the sale and it was NOT noted that it is not up to code, who is responsible to bring it up to code?

I don't have enough facts to respond. It depends on what the agreement of sale says, who did the inspection, and who was responsible for ordering the inspection. If you send me your agreement of sale and call me (610 565-3700), I'll try to help. You should not be responsible under normal circumstances, but I cannot be sure.
