Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Pennsylvania

Just got letter from lawyer asking me to pay $3000-$5000 because I hired someone to trim hedges that I thought were mine. Hedges were over 6ft. high and hanging over my stockade wooden fence that was falling down. My handymen took down the fence and cut the hedges about a foot from the ground because at 4 ft, they looked bad(no green, just wooden stems). I replaced the fence with a chain link one. Neighbors are citing lack of privacy. I told them what I was doing before hand. Now property stakes appeared and a letter from the lawyer. I live in Pa. Advice??

You should take that letter to a lawyer who handles real property law. There are a few things that you would need to explain in order for a lawyer to answer your question. The first thing would be, who does the lawyer represent the town or a neighbor? Also, what are they claiming you did wrong in the letter?

I would avoid answering going too much into this case on this forum. I would suggest talking to an attorney in confidence about this matter. Hope that helps lawyer Michael Kotik.
