Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Pennsylvania

Life Estate Clause

My elderly mother in law does not qualify for the property tax rebate program in PA because she technically does not own her home anymore. After her husband passed away she signed the property over to her children. She does pay all property taxes and maintenance out of her own money. When I contacted the State they said that she needs a ''Life Estate Clause''. I'm looking for this form, can you send this to me?

Re: Life Estate Clause

You really need the services of an attorney. A new deed needs to be prepared creating a life estate for your mother in the real estate. It is rather simple and not costly. The current owners need to sign and have their signature notarized. Depending where the property is located the recording fees are different. If you have a copy of the deed into the children with the recording information I can prepare the deed. Cost of preparation should not run more than $125. If I can be of any assistence let me know.
