Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Pennsylvania
How long must you have a domestic animal in your possession (like someone gives you a cat they no longer want) before it becomes legally your property, and the other party cannot change their mind and sue for its return!

A pet is personal not real property. A gift once accepted is hard to revoke. It's not a matter for the District Justice as they can not order replevin (an order to give something back). I suppose the could take this up with the Common Pleas court but they'll have to file a petition and pay the filing fee and follow the rules of civil procedure. Without a lawyer that is no easy task.
If the gift was non-conditional they can't say they want to revoke the gift.
