I'm lost

I've recently gotten married and want to add my wife's name to the house deed. What forms are needed?

If there is no mortgage on the property you will need to execute either a general warranty deed or quit claim deed. If you have a mortgage you will need to get their permission and your wife will need to disclaim her ownership rights in case of default. I offer free consultations.

What is needed is a copy of the old deed with the recording information. A new deed must be prepared and filed with the Recorder of Deeds. The preparation and filing of the Deed depending on the County where you are located will cost about $125 to $200. There is no transfer tax. You should not have a problem getting a mortgage company to agree. Gerald Hershenson Esq. 215-579-9390
