Mortgage Name Transfer

The mortgage for my house is in both my & my parents' names. I want to transfer this to my & my husband's names. Is there an easy way?

You want to change names on a mortgage.

Changing the name on a mortgage will be difficult in these economic times. The mortgage holder will want to be assured that the new obligors will be able to maintain the loan(s) properly.

You should see a local real estate attorney who can work with you and your lender to either refinance or alter the existing mortgage.

If you actually mean to change the deed then you will also need an attorney but it will be a rather easy process.
