Read your lease. Some leases contain a clause which addresses the situation of holdover tenants. I am not sure why your landlord rented the property to someone else if you expressed an intent to renew. Know that your landlord does not have to rent to you and might want you out for some reason. I would look at your lease and I would have a talk with the property manager as to why your lease was not renewed and why it is that they want you out. It may be that this was a mistake and the new tenants can go into another unit.
