Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Pennsylvania
PA Rental Question
After moving into my apartment I discovered that my oven did not work. I reported this to my landloard but have now gone 2 + weeks without a functioning oven with no response from my landlord about a plan moving forward. What are my legal rights?

Re: PA Rental Question
The first thing to do is start writing. Send your landlord a letter stating the oven is broken and asking when he is going to fix it. If he ignores you find out what it will cost to fix the oven. Then in the second letter ask again for him to fix the oven and that if he doesn't then you will have it repaired and that you want him to pay.
If it comes to having the oven repaired on your dime. Send a copy of the bill with a letter to the landlord that if you aren't paid by the time the next rent payment is due, you'll be deducting the repair cost from the next rent payment.
