Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Pennsylvania

I paid for 2 acres and 16 perches and only got .14 acres

about 35 years ago i bought some ground that connects to other property i own, i never used the ground until now, my son is clearing it off to build his home on it, i went to the court house to get the tax map so we knew how much we owned, my son was surveying it, and it says there that i only have .14 acre and my deed clearly states that i purchased 2 acres and 16 perches.the lady at the court house said there is nothing i can do. is this true? can they just take away my property like that?

I don't have enough facts to answer your question. However, a starting point would be to compare the legal description in the deed with the tax map. It may be mapped wrong, or you may have a title problem with a neighbor. A good real estate/title attorney could figure out what you really own.
