Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Pennsylvania

My parents just received a letter saying they owe a bubble payment of 12,000 on their mortgage. Their mortgage should be paid off this month and there should be no bubble payment. They have had this house since December of 1982 and refinanced once in 97. Any suggestions on what they should do?
