Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Pennsylvania
What is the period of time between the Filing date and the Auction date in a Real Estate Foreclosure?
1 Answer from Attorneys
If you mean the time between the initial filing of a mortgage foreclosure complaint and the date of a sheriff's sale, it could be many months -- if you do something that delays the process.
If the homeowner does nothing at all, though, you're talking a few months. If, however, the homeowner fights the foreclosure action and forces the mortgage company to prove its case and jump through all the necessary legal hoops in doing so, then things could drag out for well over a year. An attorney can help you decide what your options are, and I suggest that you consult with one ASAP.
Best of luck to you.
