Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Pennsylvania
Pet owner tenant/landlord rights
Is it legal for a landlord to give a tenant who no longer has a lease, but is on a month to month an amended lease agreement stating there will now be a charge of $100.00 per month for anyone with pet/pets? No charge or penalty was ever listed in the original lease. Does he not have to give more that 15 days notice of this change if it is legal?
Thank you

Re: Pet owner tenant/landlord rights
The law today is 15 days notice to end any lease under one year. The landlord can end your current lease by giving 15 days notice from the anniversary date of the lease. This ends the current written or unwritten lease. He can say that if you are not out by the end of the current term, you must comply with his new terms. In short he can add a pet amount to the new lease.
