Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Pennsylvania
Must I be present for house closing?
I am the executor of my mother's estate in Pennsylvania. Her home is currently on the market. I live in Nevada. When the house sells, must I travel back to Pennsylvania for the closing? Or can I have the documents sent to me and have my signature witnessed? Or must I arrange for a Power Of Attorney to sign for me?

No. You can either have the documents sent to you and then send them back--sort of a delayed two part closing or sign a limited power of attorney for someone else to sign on your behalf. An attorney can draft a limited power of attorney for about $29.00, otherwise you just next day air mail documents back and forth.
