Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Pennsylvania
Problems with Morgage Co.
Dear Sir or Madam,
My mortgage company claims that I am a month behind on my payments. I have contadcted them by phone several times, faxed copies of all canceled checks relating to this mortgage 4 or 5 times. I sent the same information via certified mail. I have requested several times to be contacted about this problem and they have not responded. This has been going on for 4 months now. Last contact by phone I was promised a call today 7/21 and did not receive one. I called this afternoon and asked for the person to whom I spoke with earlier in the week and was told there is no such person. The company refuses to send me information as to the allocation of money I have paid them, I pay extra principal every month.
The mortgage company seems either unwilling or unable to work this problem out. I have had this mortgage for less then a year and would like to get this problem fixed before too much more time goes by. What can I do to help rectify the situation.

Re: Problems with Morgage Co.
I strongly recommend that you seek legal counsel before this situation gets out of hand. The run around that you described is a result of bureaucratic mess and it will get worse. Make sure you have copies of all check payments. This could be important. The best advice that I can give you is to document everything in writing and hire an attorney.
