Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Pennsylvania

Property Rights

I purchased a home with my boyfriend and I would like to know if I have any legal right to have him removed from the property. I would like to buy out his half of the house. While waiting for all the approvals on a mortgage and the settlement on a price. It would be easier if he was not at the property while all this was going on. Is there anything I can do? I also have two children in the house ages 9 and 15 years.

Re: Property Rights

Assuming no violence or abuse, you can not get your boyfriend out unless he agrees to leave. You can force a sale of the property. If your boyfriend abuses you, a protection from abuse claim can be filed and he can be removed for up to one year. I suggest you consult legal counsel. Gerald Hershenson Esq.
