Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Pennsylvania
I was recently informed that my Grandfather left myself and several of my cousins land property in Pennsylvania through his will. My Grandfather died in 1994 and we were never informed that we were left this property by the executor of his estate. My uncle was my Grandfather's estate executor. My uncle has been paying the real estate taxes on the land property for the past 19 years. He has now informed us that we own the property and owe him "back taxes" for the past 19 years that he has paid them. We are having the deed fixed so it is correct and have every intention of taking over the forthcoming real estate taxes from here on. My question is: Do we owe "back taxes" to our uncle for a property that we own but were never made aware of until now? We also were never able to make any decisions on this land for 19 years as my uncle made all decisions for the property. At the time my Grandfather died we were fully of age and married.

While you might owe him something. Why couldn't he find you? The estate owes the taxes not your uncle unless a court finds that he made no attempt to find you.
Obviously you should have been on the hook for taxes but equally obvious is that your Uncle should have be able to find his nephew.
Sad new lawyers will be involved.
