Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Pennsylvania

removal of mechanic's lein that has expired

About 8-9 years ago we were building a new home and subcontrator some work out. We purchased $6000.00 in oak trim and doors. They stained the trim wrong--cut off our doors 2inches short etc. We fired them and did not pay them. We then had to rebuy all trim and doors. They filed a mechanic's lein on our house. This has never caused a problem for us until just lately--we applied for a loan and we need to show that this is satisified. We did not pay this, but in the state of PA a lein is only valid for 5 years if the contractor dosen't take any action in that time. We need to know how to get this removed from our credit report. We reply asap loan is pending this removal.

Re: removal of mechanic's lein that has expired

Who filed the mechanic's lien and when did they do this? Was there a court action or not? Retain an attorney before its to late.

Sincerely,
