Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Pennsylvania

renters rights

I currently am renting a house and the owner has asked me to pay half of the property taxes for the house. I feel I should not have to pay these taxes since I do not own this property and feel it is their responsiblity to pay the property tax. Am I correct in this matter?

Re: renters rights

In order to properly advise you the entire written lease must be reviewed. If the lease requires you to pay the taxes you must do so. However, if the lease is silent on this matter you do not have to pay the taxes. I suggest you consult with legal counsel. I would be happy to review the lease for a minimum charge of $35.
