Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Pennsylvania

Renting a house with more than one owner

I rented a house from someone I knew and we drew up a lease from a store-bought cd-rom program. We both signed this lease. Now, a year later, I discover that there is a co-owner of this property, who is telling me that the lease I signed is not valid without her signature. If a house has a co-owner, do both have to sign a lease agreement in order for it to be valid? Or is it legal and binding with just one of the owners' signature? Can this co-owner evict me?

It is difficult to answer completely without a full review of the documents. A co owner has the apparant authority to lease the property and generally speaking a co-owner is bound by the lease. However, the full circumstances must be reviewed by competent legal counsel. If I can be of any assistence please call. Gerald Hershenson 215-579-9390
