Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Pennsylvania

Reverse Mortgage

As an heir to parents assests that will be in a reverse mortgage. I do not want to be associated with the estate after their passing to settle that loan. Would rather have siblings inherit. How can I do this?

Re: Reverse Mortgage

Well the cheapest way to handle this is to do NOTHING. You're not a party to the mortgage so you are obligated to pay anything by contract. The bank gets its money back by selling the house subject to the reverse mortgage.

Note: you don't inherit debt. If the estates debts exceeds its assets the heirs get ZERO. The people owed money might not get paid all their owed but that's not your problem.

I think I just answered an identical question in the last week. The answer didn't change.
