Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Pennsylvania
Old roomate filed for bankruptcy
I previously asked a question about suing my old roomate in small claims court and received an answer saying that I could. I just recently discovered that he filed for bankruptcy. Is it even worth taking this to litigation, knowing that he won't be able to pay the debt?

Re: Old roomate filed for bankruptcy
Once a debtor files bankruptcy you are prohibited from pursing a legal action against him. However, there are ways to attempt to get the debtor to agree to pay. However, you should seek the advice of legal counsel as this effort may not be cost effective.
