Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Pennsylvania
Roommate question
Last april, i signed a year lease with two other individuals. I have since moved out of the house because my roommates made it unbearable for me to stay. However, i have continued to pay my third of the rent each month in order to fulfill my contract. I was wondering if i am legally liable to pay for a third of the utilities. my roommates say that i am. and they will sue me if i don't pay. I feel it's ridiculous that i'm paying for a third of their cable, electricity, phone bill, even their newspaper delivery, even though i have not stepped on the property in 2 months. incidently, all of these utilities were put in my name at the start of the lease, and have since been changed into my former roommates names when i moved out.

Re: Roommate question
If your name is not on the utilities than you have no obligation ot pay them and your roommates have no grounds to collect from you, but you must be off the bills.
