sale of a house
i have sold a property with 20,000 down and the remainder is due when the house is finished, we have a verbal agreement as to when the remainder of the money will be paid to me, which is 40,000. am i able to place alien against the propert6y to make sure i get the onoey? i am in Pa

The law in Pennsylvania is that all contracts for land must be in writing. That law dates back to 1774.
Without a written contract you might have a problem enforcing the sales agreement. In addition to the sales agreement you should have a promissory note. Without those two documents you could have problems enforcing the sale or the payment or both. Though I doubt someone would walk away from $20,000.
