i have agreeded to purchase home for sale by owner we have given deposit ck was signed and cashed by sellers they are going through divorce we have a written agreement but not a final draft of such we agreeed to a oct settlement date wife now wants to rent property from us as she is not interested in moving ''for a while '' we do not know what that means do we legal have a sale husband wants to settle asap

You need to consult with a local real estate attorney as soon as possible to see whether the agreement you have is a complete contract and what your rights and obligations are.

Buying from a divorcing couple is often a problem, since they are not inclined to agree on many things. All the more reason that you should be represented to protect your interests.
