Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Pennsylvania

Seller refuses to sign addendum

My husband and I were scheduled to close on our new house on Sept. 14th. Due to the airports shutting down, the closing had to be postponed for several days. The contract states ''Settlement to be made on or before Sept. 15th.'' The seller refuses to sign the addendum requesting an extention and claims that the contract is now null and void. Are there any laws protecting against unavoidable delays, such as the US terrorist attacks?

Not sure where this stands since it is now November. However if this is still an issue this can be resolved. Please contact my office at 412-916-1677. You should be able to get your hand money back at a minimum, closing are postponed routinely and with alot less of a reason than the 9/11 attack. This normally does not negate the contract
