Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Pennsylvania
Surveillance signs scaring away prospective tenants
I have a rental property that I am having a hard time renting out
because of a neighbors signs. The neighbor has conspicous surveillance
cameras mounted around his property with signs that say ''remember! you
are being watched'' and ''crackheadcam.pitas.com'' along with ''why do you think
they call it dope?'', ''there's no excuse for child abuse''. There are approx a dozen of them with each being about 12''x16''. I've asked him to
remove the signs because of me not being able to rent my property
out but he has declined saying he has to think of his family's safety
first. Is there any way I can force him legally to remove the signs?
He owns his property outright so there is no landlord for me to turn to. This is in the city of Pittsburgh.

Re: Surveillance signs scaring away prospective tenants
I would check the city sign ordinance. It might not totally ban him from having signs but it might restrict the number and size of the signs.
If that doesn't help. You'll probably need to sit down with an attorney and see what potential causes of actions you may have against the neighbor.
