Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Pennsylvania

Termination of lease using transfer clause

I had a ONE year lease agreement for my apartment effective Aug 98 for year with a transfer clause addendum which stated that I could terminate my lease with a 2 month notice if I am transferred by my company to a different city. There after every year I have renewed my lease (another 3 times) with an amendment with only for a change in the rent amount.

I just got transferred and would like to use the transfer clause whereas my landord says that the transfer clause does not apply to the renewed lease .

Re: Termination of lease using transfer clause

Without reviewing the lease I cannot give you a definitive answer but if the lease has a transfer clause and most do I would think you can invoke it.

Your original lease with the amendent should be valid, again I would need to review the document.

Our office works on these matters all of the time. We also provide a free initial consultation to all new clients.
