if told i have to leave can i?

if a landlord informs me they are selling the property and i might have to move--name removed--can i legaly break my lease if i found another place to live now?

If you have a written lease the new owner must honor it and then can terminate when it expires. Suggest you ask current owner for right to move in exchange for release from the lease. Your presence might jeapodize the sale. Your lease does not terminate upon a sale. Your rent payments will have to made to the new owner.
