Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Pennsylvania

Transfer Name on a Deed

I have been paying taxes on a piece of land for 15 years. The property is owned by a relative and she is ready to transfer the name on the deed from her to me. The property is clear of all liabilities. My relative lives in Pennsylvania but the property is in Delaware. What is the process to get my name added to the deed and take my relative's name off the deed? I was told this can be done in Pennsylvania and is a simple process.

Re: Transfer Name on a Deed

If the property is in Delaware you need an opinion from a Delaware lawyer. You may be able to get information by contacting a title or abstract company in the Delaware county where the property is located. In PA such companies will prepare and file a deed for a small fee. Peter M. Dolinger, Esq.
