Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Pennsylvania

My uncle cosigned the mortgage for his daughter and son in law several years ago. The son in law is now in jail for 2 years and his daughter has no job for income...she was always a stay at home mom. My uncle has been paying the mortgage so his credit doesn't get ruined. He and his daughter want to sell the house, but the son in law had his lawyer file a cease and dissist to prevent the sale. Is it possible to obtain some sort of order forcing the sale of the property assuming everyone receives their fair share of the profit. My uncle doesn't want to be stuck paying for this mortgage and he fears he will never receive reimbursment even after the son in law gets out of jail. What can he do?
