Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Pennsylvania

upset sale

We bought an undeveloped lot at an upset sale in PA for back taxes. We had a title search done and there were no liens filed against the property. It is in a planned community and the community now says we owe 2 years back dues plus late fees and interest. How can we find out if they can legally bill us for this?

Re: upset sale

Time to have a chat with the title searcher.

If the association never filed for a judgment against the property owner then the title searcher would not have found any liens.

If they sue they should have to sue the previous owner not you.

If you have any questions feel free to contact me. The initial consultation is free.
