Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Pennsylvania

What can be done with Vehicle left in rental garage

Individual renting my garage stops making rent payments and leaves an unlicensed vehicle in my garage. I have no address or phone number for the individual except for his mothers. I have called there several times to ask for rent and until recently the rent was then paid.

What can I do with the vehicle???

Most towns have ordinances against abandoned vehicles. I suggest you call your local police and tell them that a vehicle has been abandoned in your yard. They should be able to assist. If that does not work, please call me to discuss appropriate other actions. Gerald Hershenson 215-579-9390

If you have a formal rental agreement with him it would probably fall under an abandonment clause. Like most self storage places if the rent is not paid and proper notice is given the owner of the sotrage facility has the right to take title to the property. However he must do several things before this can happen, that includes certain public advertising and a specific type of auction.

I would not move forward without consulting an attorney because if you act incorrectly you could be liable.
