Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Pennsylvania

Written agreement concerning monies from the sale of real property

My parents have lived in the same house for 25 years which they purchased in the 1970s. The house was transferred into another relatives name about 5 years ago. My parents have always paid the mortgage and were technically living as renters. The time has come to sell the house and it 25 acres. My parents and the owners(relatives) have written an agreement stating the my parents are entitled to all the monies that are left over from selling the house. Would this written agreement be enforeceable in a court of law in case the relatives decide they want to keep all or some of the money? The letter was notarized if that helps. Thank you.

Re: Written agreement concerning monies from the sale of real property

The written agrement must be reviewed and possibly redrafted by legal counsel. It the agreement is clear it should be enforceable in a court of law. However, an attorney review is strongly recommended. Gerald Hershenson 215-579-9390
