Legal Question in Social Security Law in Pennsylvania

Name change

I want to change my first name in Pennsylvania. I'm concerned that I might run into walls if I do so, such as not be able to get passports/credit cards etc. How do I go about doing this without it affecting my life negatively?

Social Security law is not the place to seek answers.

Name Change is controlled by PA law. Contact your local county bar associaion/lawyer referral service for an attorney in your county who can file the documents with your local court.

That attorney can assist you in notifying credit cards, driver's license, etc. of your legal name change.
