Legal Question in Social Security Law in Pennsylvania

disability insurance

my husband age 52 is on social security disability and railroad retirement disability for the last 2 years due to heart problems,2 very arthritic knees,asthma ,etc. our mortage is being paid through our disability insurance that we took out on it.they're starting to give us a hard time and want to see if he can be rehabilitated to go back to work or do any type of work at all probably to get out of paying our mortage.i thought once your on social security that would override any company trying to do this.am i wrong? thank-you for your time on this.rose

Re: disability insurance

Unless there is some provision in your mortgage disability insurance policy that would say that your husband's SS disability is proof of disability for the policy, then the insurance company can request proof. Keep all correspondence from the company and make notes of persons talked to and dates in case the insurance company steps out of bounds in their process.
