Legal Question in Social Security Law in Pennsylvania

inheritance on SSD,SSI, HUD housing

What are the laws in PA? Can a person lose their help? WHat if a person assigns their inheritance to someone else or what if you do a renunciation, will it still affect a persons benefits and Housing help in regard will they lose it, what can a person do. This person would get around 6,000 dollars inheritance, a little less than their total years disability. But is afraid if they get their inheritance that they will lose their benefits and housing help and have their SSD reduced when it is already way below poverty rate, under $670.00 monthly. They get under $12.00 SSI as they qualify financially. This person must take about 1,000 a month in medicine to stay alive and is on steroids for their illness and has many other health problems and is considered retired. They have medicare and medicaid/PA access. HELP PLEASE????

Re: inheritance on SSD,SSI, HUD housing

He or she should probably not renounce the inheritance. The Inheritance may disqualify them for the $12.00 in SSI but doesn't affect the SSD.
