The good news is that there is no mandatory snitch law - so you will not get in trouble for not reporting his fraud. But you need to decide what is the right thing to do here.

Anytime someone receives a benefit that they should not have received and the SSA finds out, the person who received the benefit will be charged with an Overpayment. SSA will make demands for re-payment even though you and your child are not at fault.

If you check through other Social Security questions posted here over the last year, I believe you will find a posting by young man whose mother received auxiliary benefits for him as a minor from his disabled father's account. For some reason SSA found the payments improper and demanded that he re-pay - even though payments were made to his mother several years earlier.
