Legal Question in Traffic Law in Pennsylvania
Bench Warrants
I am wondering if a bench warrant was issued in PA is it only valid in PA or will it be valid here in SC where I just moved to. I want to change my driver's license but do not know if I will be red flagged or not.

Re: Bench Warrants
If the police, Department of Motor Vehicles or anyone else runs an NCIC, which is a computer data base for criminal arrests, convictions, warrants, etc., it will most likely show up. They can actually pick up a person who has an out-of-state warrant and take them into custody. Whether or not the other state would come and get the person would depend on a number of things. If you have a warrant in another state you would be best contacting an attorney in that state and addressing the warrant.
