Legal Question in Traffic Law in Pennsylvania

The other day my father was driving to work and the roads were iced over. He came over a hill and saw that first vehichle was spinning out and the second car beind him was starting to do the same and was following close and the third vehichle spun out and crossed over the lane of traffic facing south bound on the side of the road. My father tried braking but could not gain control of the truck and hit the vehicle that was in his lane of traffic. The car after it was hit spun around and my fathers continued in a snow bank after he lost control. What our question who would be liable for the damages whether it was the vehichle that was on my fathers side of the road or my father. Also if the liability falls on the township for them not putting sinders on the road because the road was just one big sheet of ice and the did not come by to put sinders down till after the accident happened.

Normally, your father could sue the vehicle that was pushed into his lane of travel bt the car going in the other direction. The issue really is, was your father hurt, and if so, how bad were his injuries. I suggest that you have your father meet with a local attorney who concentrates on personal injury litigation to sort matters out. If only property damage was involved, and you had collision coverage, you should report it to your insurance company (which he should do anyway). If he had no collision, your father can sue the responsible driver. No reputable personal injury lawyer is going to charge your father any fee for an initial consultation. HAVE HIM SEE A LAWYER IMMEDIATELY.
