Legal Question in Traffic Law in Pennsylvania
driving privileges
My license was suspended from '99. My suspensions are over but I never turned in my license or signed an acknowledgement. I had previously lost my license. I wanted to know how much longer my license was going to be suspended. I then signed an acknowledgement or affividavit. They just started my suspension. I recently moved to Orlando, FL. Can I get my privileges restored here? Is there something that I can do about this?

Re: driving privileges
There would be a small chance that we could submit an Administrative Petition for Credit with Penn DOT. I would first have to evaulate your 10 year driving record as well as a restoration requirements letter from Penn DOT to determine the chance of success.
Since 9/11, the states share info much better than they did before. Florida will check the national database to seee if your license is flagged. Then, they wil tell you there is nothing you can do in FL. The solution lies with PA. Get the documents mentioned above and give me a call. You can also shoot me a direct email to further discuss this matter and your options.
Your experience is consistent with the advice of Penn DOT. They do not give accurate advice and they certainly do not give advice that is in your best interest. Your matter would be easier to resolve if you never sent in an affidavit.
