Legal Question in Traffic Law in Pennsylvania
Hit and Run
I was recently involved in a hit and run accident. I am an international student driving on an international driver's permit and did not understanding the ramifications of leaving the scene of an accident. The accident seemed extremely minor with negligible damage to the two vehicles.
I was wondering that if I spoke to the other party involved, is it possible for them to drop the charges? I realize now that hit and run is considered a very serious offense and I was wondering if you could help me understand the consequences and my best possible course of action.
Thank you

Re: Hit and Run
Was the other party injured? Or was it just property damage? Was the other person in the car at the time?
Your best bet is to hire an attorney who will negotiate this matter for you. You have said that you didn't understand the seriousness of the matter, and, if you'll excuse the assumption, you likely don't understand the legal system well enough to proceed on your own.
If you'd like to contact me by email or phone (724-845-8340) I'd be happy to discuss it with you further.

Your best bet is to secure counsel and have the attorney negotiate on your behalf. I offer free consultations.
