Legal Question in Traffic Law in Pennsylvania
Insurance Company Lawyer
I was in an auto accident in Dec of 2002. Three weeks ago I received a complaint that I was being sued by the other driver. I had liability insurance at the time of the accident. First I don't understand why I am personally being sued instead of my insurance company and secondly, why wait until almost two years to file a suit? It's obvious that the other driver is trying to scam someone out of a large sum of money.

Re: Insurance Company Lawyer
Your insurance company only has a duty to rpovide a defense and yo pay any claims within policy limits. Most suits are filed near the end of the 2 year statute of limitations to allow a negotiation to take place. Forward the lawsuit to the agent who sold you the insurance for that time frame as soon as possible.
