Legal Question in Traffic Law in Pennsylvania

I had a lapse of insurance of about 3 days in june or july. I believe it was from the 15-18? PennDot was notified and I received the standard letter. I sent in my insurance information and the affidavit stating that I had not driven my car during that time period... when August came around I tried renewing my registration online, but was denied doing so... I continued driving my car while trying to get this all settled. I was pulled over by a Pennsylvania State Police officer about 3 weeks ago. He issued me a citation for driving on a suspended registration, when I explained to him what happened he just said to ask for a hearing, he wouldn't be offended, that this stuff happens all the time. When I got the papers in the mail, I took them to my local magistrates office and just plead guilty, I figured the fines would be easier than the hassle of having a hearing...bad idea. Now I've been notified that because of this citation my license will be suspended at the end of December. It says I can appeal but doesn't state how. I drive 30 miles one way to work, 4 days a week. What are my options and what can I do? Any help or advice would be greatly appreciate. Thank you in advance!

Your only option is to consult with a lawyer immediately. There are time limits to appeal and once they have passed, you have a bigger problem. An experienced lawyer can probably work something out with the State that will at least allow you to drive to and from work. But you need a lawyer to really help you with the procedures involved.
