Legal Question in Traffic Law in Pennsylvania
Was the light yellow or red?
I was going up a hill 1035pm was starting to make a right turn when the light turned yellow. I continued around and a police oficcer pulled me over. he came up to me asked me ''do you know what a yellow light means?'' I said ''yes, it means prpeare to stop.'' the police officer said give me your license and registration. he came back to the car told me hear is a citation for failure to stop at a red indicator. I asked him if what I did was go through as the light turned yellow why was this the charge. he said don't go by what I say stick to your story but read and comply with rules on reverse of the ticket. walks away saying have a nice rest of the night. I have never had an accident nor a ticket for anything but a parking meter. I want to plead not guilty and explain my side. what do you think? and why do you think that an officer that I am fully complying with would say those things as he did asking about the yellow but citing me for red don't go by what I say stick to your story and have a nice rest or the night?

Re: Was the light yellow or red?
If you feel strongly enough it is worth your time and the additional expense to clear your record, but be advised it would cost more than pleading guilty and paying the ticket. If you do decide to fight the ticket retain counsel, counsel can and will explain the appeal procedure as well represent you and your interests.
