Motions before District Justice
I have an upcoming hearing for a traffice violation before a District Justice. Due to recent medical problems, I need more time to prepare my defense. What is the best or proper way to ask the District Justice for a continuance? Also, should the opportunity present itself, What is the best way to ask for charges to be dismissed if prosecution is not prepared to present its case?

Re: Motions before District Justice
You should fax a letter as soon as possible to the district court outlining your need for a continuance and the reasons why you need it, i.e., illness, death in family etc. Due to increases in insurance premiums resulting from receiving points you should consider hiring an attorney. I offer free consultations.
