police officer's in accidents
At the scene of an accident, can a police officer withold the name and insurance of the other car's driver?

It depends upon what relationship you have to the person involved in the accident....if you're a party to the accident all of this information will be contained in the accident report, if you are not, there would be no reason for you to obtain said info. unless you were injured from or due to this accident.

If the Officer will not disclose at that time, a copy of the accident report may be picked up shortly thereafter.
