Legal Question in Traffic Law in Pennsylvania
I was pulled over today because I had to avoid hitting another vehicle. The Police Officer who pulled me over said I almost hit him and that I ran through a red light. I just don't know what to do. What should I have done, and what should I do about this

The bottom portion of the ticket needs to be returned to Philadelphia traffic court to request a hearing. At the hearing you can have an attorney if you want, and many people find it very helpful to bring one....
My office routinely handles these cases for a small appearance fee.
The police office is not required to appear in Court at the first session. An assigned police officer reads the ticket to the Judge and then the Judge makes a ruling. The decision can be appealled if you don't like the outcome. The second level requires the police officer who wrote the ticket to attend and present the case to the Judge.
