Legal Question in Traffic Law in Pennsylvania
I received a citation and a summons in the same envelope through the mail on 9/22.The citation was for parking on my grass on 9/5.The citation was never placed on my car and in the place for my signature it read "to be mailed".If I had known about the citation, I would have only had to pay $10. I sent the summons back to the Magistrate pleading "not guilty" with the $63.50 fee.My date to see the Magistrate is 10/12 and which I will have to take a 1/2 a day off work. I know this is not a lot of money, but do I have a chance of having this thrown out ?

Good Morning:
You've already taken the first step by pleading Not Guilty. You do have a chance of getting this withdrawn or of pleading to a lower offense. You should attend your hearing before the District Judge and try to get this worked out. If the outcome is not favorable to you, you should take a Statutory conviction Appeal, which should be done within 30 days and contact our office as soon as possible.
Thank you,
