Recently we had a motorcycle stolen and it was recovered. Is it our responsiblilty to pay for the towing fee charged to the police in transporting the motorcycle from where it was found to the police barracks?

Re: Return of Stolen Property
You asked about recovering a stolen motorcycle.
Actually, you are not responsible for paying a towing fee from the place of recovery to the police barracks. The police will always try to recover the fee so as to protect their budget, but you actually didn't care if the bike was transported to the barracks. In fact, had you been asked you would have either picked up the bike where it was, had it towed to a destination of your choosing or towed it yourself.
The question is how far are you willing to go to prosecute your rights.

Roger
